Hello, I'm Ian.
When words are not enough, art and creativity can provide another way to healing.
I offer a welcoming approach, led by the individuality of the client, which provides a space to play and create with artistic processes. I work in a way which searches for a clients strengths in order to help them thrive. I believe its in the act of creation that we find resilience, self-esteem, meaning and healing and learn to move forwards towards a better life. No art skills are required!
While it is not my only area of focus, I have often worked with young adults who are either autistic or ADHD; who might benefit from someone who understands the way life may impact on their neurodiverse, unique self.
I have also helped clients experiencing issues such as; bereavement, childhood trauma, sexual exploitation, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and separation from children.
I offer face-to-face, one-to-one personal art therapy, and I can facilitate group creative therapy sessions.
Based in Sheffield, I have been working in the field of neurodiversity in education for over ten years for Spectrum First Education. I have worked with a number of other organisations including the NHS, Waythrough, BBC Bitesize, Twinkl Educational Publishing, Mountain Healthcare and Pure Creative Arts.
Whatever life is throwing at you, I’m here to support you to make it through. Please, get in touch
